Don't forget you're the member, not the PC

Unlike other support services, we don't restrict your coverage to just one PC, as we know many people now use desktop and laptop PCs together. So you can give us a ring when you need help with a PC at the office, or when you are out and about with your laptop – just keep your membership card and number to hand. Don't worry, we can provide membership for each of your employees to receive the same level of support (additional charges apply).

The wonders of TechGuys Remote Fix!

We understand that more complicated problems are not easily resolved over the phone, which is why we've created TechGuys Remote Fix. The TechDesk will share control of your screen whilst you are on the phone, watching what is happening, solving your problem.

What happens when you have a problem or question?

  1. Contact the TechDesk team using the freephone number.
  2. We'll ask you for your TechDesk receipt no. to validate your service.
  3. We'll ask you some questions and request information to help diagnose the problem, and we'll answer any questions you may have.
  4. If we can't resolve the problem over the phone we will give you a secure website address to access, so we can resolve the problem remotely, by sharing control of your screen while you watch what we do.

Here's the small print we need to give you

TechDesk includes phone support and remote fix access. It does not include site visits or the cost of repairing hardware or software failures. Remote fix can only be accessed via a broadband connection.

The service will comprise

  • Access to a freephone number for help and advice with hardware, software and operating system enquiries.
  • Trying to resolve the problem over the phone first, we will either fix it or provide advice on what options are available to fix the issue.
  • Where the problem cannot be resolved initially, the TechDesk team will direct you to a secure website, and then offer to remotely access your PC to determine the problem.
  • Some software packages may require escalation to the manufacturer for support.

The following can't be supported

  • Linux®
  • File servers, file server operating systems, domain and active directory based networks,virtual file private network (VPN) and wide area networks, multisubnet networks, complex firewall configurations.
  • The technical service operates under a fair usage policy. We may raise additional charges if we believe that the service is being used for more than business membership purposes or because we believe that you are failing to take appropriate steps to maintain and safeguard your system.
