Here's how it works
Data Recovery is a business service which works fast to retrieve data lost through accidental deletion or system failure. Losing business or customers' data can be stressful but you can be confident knowing that the TechGuys will recover the data in no time.
If your local store does not have Data Recovery facilities we will offer our workshop service where your PC will be sent to our state of the art workshop.

Please note

- Bring your hard drive or PC to the TechGuys at the time and date of your appointment. We'll ask you to complete a form to help us understand what needs to be recovered.
- We will explain what will be done and how long it should take.
- The timescales will depend on the quantity of data involved and the type of hard drive. We will need to know exactly where your lost files and data were located. In some cases we may need to send your hard drive away to our workshop. We will access only the files agreed with you.
- We will contact you to keep you informed and update you on the status of the recovery.
- When you come to collect we will sit with you and take you through what we have done and what data has been recovered.
- If we believe your hard drive is damaged, we will recommend a specialist lab service. If you agree, we will arrange for it to be sent away to a specialist lab. This service can take up to 10 days and is an additional cost.
- We will not view your personal files during the service unless it has been agreed with you.
More information
To ensure that we fulfil your specific requirements from this service, your TechGuy will ask for information relating to the location of the files to be recovered.
We will use the latest software to recover data but on some occasions recovery may not be possible and we will review this with you on collection.
Service excludes
- The cost of a replacement drive is not included and must be purchased in store at the time of the service. It will need to be of equal size or bigger than the drive being recovered.
- Apple Mac drives.
- RAID hard drives.
- All major formats of memory card/USB storage devices.

Additional notes
- We offer a specialised lab service which can support damaged drives. (Available as a separate service which will include an additional charge).
